First Day of Kindergarten!

I woke Emily up around 6:45 am. She is not a morning person, but popped out of bed when I told her it was time for Kindergarten! She put on her carefully planned 'first day of school outfit,' blew her hair dry, and had a hearty breakfast of pancakes! We waited in the rain for about 20 minutes and then the bus finally came. I felt like I was practically dragging her - I think she was kind of stunned that the moment was actually here! I didn't get choked up until I realized that I kind of tossed her on the bus and then it drove off! I was so afraid that she was scared and I didn't get to give her a hug! She was the first stop of the neighborhood and the only kid on the bus...thankfully her friends kept getting on stop after stop! Below is the video of her driving off - she later told me she looked away because she was sick of the camera, not because she was sad. THANK GOD! A mother's guilt is too much!

My neighbor, Cassie, and I sat outside for about 40 minutes waiting for the kiddos to get dropped off. They had a half day...thank goodness because she was exhausted tonight. She got off the bus and was so hyped up about school, she used all the last bits of energy she had! The kids were both in bed by 6:45pm. I am going to bed as soon as these posts are updated. All in all, Emily loved Kindergarten and can't wait for tomorrow!
